KODAKI NOZAKI VS. DAISUKE SEKIMOTO (KYUSHU PRO, 02/11/2024)
This is a Kyushu Pro blog now.. just kidding but we're back with another review about a match from Kyushu Pro Wrestling! They have uploaded two matches of their recent Kitakyushu Genki Festival on YouTube, so let's dive in and bring KENKA back to life -- Big Japan's evergreen Daisuke Sekimoto challenged Kyushu Pro Champion Kodai Nozaki, who won the title in a real banger in August last year at Kyushu Pro's 15th Anniversary show.

This is Sekimoto's debut for Kyushu Pro after Sekimoto announced he'll conquer Kyushu Pro at a BJW show in Fukuoka in December. Of course Nozaki accepted a challenge by Sekimoto not only to defend the title but also to defend the pride of the island of Kyushu against an invader.
The two beefy boys started the match with a lock up, Sekimoto broke it and a test of strenght came in terms of a shoulder block with a nice sound. And I loved it! Chops, shoulder blocks - That's what I want of a big boy beef battle. When Nozaki was the first man to bring the opposite to the ground after a shoulder block, the crowd was absolutely into it.
Sekimoto brought Nozaki down and pinned him onto the mat with a leg hook and immediatly after that he started to disrespect his opponent with kicks to the body while Nozaki was crawling on the ground. He even stand on him with both feet. Sekimoto tried to lift big Nozaki up and after a small struggle he managed to do that and put Nozaki into a boston crab. Another disrepect to the 26 year old champ, a move which most young boys will tap out to.
Nozaki struggled, he fought to get out of the move and selled it very good here. The champ came back to life, hit a spinebuster and a knee strike for two. I can't say it enough but I love when two beefy boys threw each other around: Belly to belly by Nozaki, Sekimoto with a brainbuster and an attempt to hit a deadlift german too.
But then it happened.. Sekimoto lifted Nozaki on his shoulders for an argentine backbreaker, which was literally insane. Nozaki stopped it and tried a brainbuster but Sekimoto turned it around. Jesus this spot was crazy. The last minutes of the minutes were the most explosive of it, each combattator desperately wanted to win the fight but it was Sekimoto who did it. He hit a Golem Splash (I miss Okabayashi) and followed with a Big Bang Catastrophe to win the title.
This was a fun ride to watch. It lacked energy at some points during the match but overall it was a very good beefy boy battle. ****
